Just Pray

This semester as a fellowship we have been focusing on going out and doing radically generous things. We are looking for injustice on our campus and places that need Jesus' love. Tonight at large group we spent some time resting in Gods presence through prayer and worship focused on generosity and justice. I encourage you to read the passages below and use them to ask for focus; focus on justice and generosity.

"'When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
'Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
'Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite me in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
'The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25 : 31 - 40
After reading this passage focus your prayer on finding the least of these. There are people that need the love of Jesus on our campus so why shouldn't we be praying to find them? I would love to hear more stories about how you are seeing the people that need the love of God. We can be generous and bring Jesus to them!

"When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. 'Oh, my lord, what shall we do?' the servant asked.
'Don't be afraid,' the prophet answered. 'Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.'
'And Elisha prayed, 'O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.' Then the Lord opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha." 2 Kings 6 : 15 - 17
Use this passage to inspire prayer about our eyes getting opened to the opportunities that surround us everyday. With school and InterVarsity and everything else we do that keeps us busy, it's too easy to not notice the people that we can be generous towards.

I believe prayer works and I want to hear stories of how prayer is transforming your life to be more focused on justice and generosity. Comment with your stories!
